Day 48 Tanami Tootle Broome recovery 0km

A day in Broome. Don got up at 5am to get the 6am bus for the Dinosaur Footprints boat trip ( tides sets the tour time, apparently he had a very good day on the boat and standing in the brontosaur footprints).

I followed him at 6am for the YHA complimentary cornflakes and coffee. Then packed up the 2 bed private room ready for the move to a six bed dorm after 10am.

Walked 2.2km to Bike Works Broome to get some boxes for our bikes that Sean had set aside for us. The proprietor and I agreed on a $5/box charge for old bike boxes so he was slightly miffed at being underpaid and I at having to pay so we were even. He was very friendly, I got kudos for having done so much desert cycling.

My Google review “Sean was great help! Put aside a couple of bike boxes ready for us to fly out of Broome after our Tanami Road ride. Even taped the boxes together for carrying back to YHA . A small charge for the boxes was quite reasonable and expected. A good little bike repair/assembly/parts shop hidden in a 28 Orr St.”

I walked the two taped together boxes back to the YHA and posted Facebook posts for the last week until our new room was available and carry the luggage up.

Then have important relaxing cup of complimentary Bushells/Lipton’s tea waiting for Don to come home.
