Day 31 Tanami Tootle on a generally very good road 51km.

Slowly recovering my strength after horror stretch from Rabbit Flat to the border. Don also less energetic than usual. Early finish at 3:30pm to encourage further strength return.

Switching meds from morning to evening to see if that helps with low BP.

Tired, hot, dry, dusty. And a little bit smelly (no shower since Tilmouth Well ten days ago).

But a miracle happened. We couldn’t find anywhere open to camp because of the dense scrub and spinifex so rode up to a semi-permanent road workers camp to ask if we could camp in their car park without getting run over. They checked with their boss back in Perth and he said to offer us their unused dongas with showers and beds, also meals and a washing machine. To riders out of the desert this is heaven and the road workers are a miracle. The crew is Fly In-Fly Out (FIFO) from Perth rebuilding roads to Balgo and beyond after the summer wet.
