More rock gorge and clear water pools. This time with a tour group from The Ghan rail train having their luxury lunch at Simspsons Gap.
A surprise was the excellent sealed bicycle path for the 17 km from Simpsons Gap to Alice Springs. Very nice and with a few runners out for a jog.
Into Alice Springs, Christine found the YHA (in the old open air cinema complex) just off Todd Avenue. For all the tales of danger and decay central Alice Springs looked and felt fairly normal, like Armadale or Rockingham. Just a bit more barbed wire and higher security fences than usual.
