Day 3 Tanami Tootle Kulta Juru (The Olgas) dawn

Alarm at 4:50 am to get ‘breakfast’ before the 5:40 bus to Kata Tjuta. Halfway through the hot chocolate the bus pulled in 100m away, dumped the coffee and fast walked to it to see it disappear down the road. Turned out to be the Uluru sunrise breakfasters and not our Hop On, Hop Off which arrived twenty minutes late.

Dull sunrise as cloudy sky but we can imagine it lighting up the rocks.

Followed that up with a 2 3/4 hour x 7.4 km walk through the Valley of the Winds. Very pretty and interesting views, howling wind blew my hat off at the highest point, rough rocky path and busting for a pee. No toilets even at the carpark and too many walkers for an examination of the bushes. Anyway decency was preserved and we had a nice walk. Lunch back at Th Kulture Cafe, discussed food requirements to the next shop (seems to be Kings Canyon Resort 4 or 5 days away), and shop up a storm.

One suspects this will be an early night before heading off into the rain to Curtin Springs tomorrow.
