Usual late start (10am) as Don pfaffed around packing up even though he started about 7am. Almost 30km downwind run but then the bitumen ended. Moderately dusty and sandy with occasional good bits.
Don left his gloves at the start of the dirt and dropped one of his fat tyres on the corrugations. He spent an hour riding back from Renahans Bore rest area to get them.
Asked tourists pulling in to caravan camp at Renahan’s Bore to look for Don’s glasses, having taken some time to figure out how to get a gpx location from the InReach. Here’s hoping.
Don found his tyre on road and finally changed both tyres to fats (70mm), much easier on the sand and dust he says. And we had patches of sand and deep dust but not too bad.
Pulled up in minor road works turnaround making 42km for the day, temperatures got over 30C today.
