Day 46 Tanami Tootle 105km from Willare Roadhouse

60 to go to Broome.

We had Willare Big Breakfasts which made us late to start. Then on was slow and steady.

Hot day! Only 31C but with us each drank 4-6L riding. Still drinking as going to bed. Wind light but all over the compass. Feeling it in the legs and speed (low).

The four trailer mineral sands trucks out of the Thunderbird Mine kept us awake on the road – you count three trailers of a normal road train go past and ease up on bike control just as the forth trailer comes past. Also ‘Centurion Transport’ three trailer road trains have been close passing us all day as have caravans and the occasional cattle road train, we suspect that as traffic gets busier approaching Broome as people have less patience at the same time that more traffic calls for more patience.

Last bush camp of the Tanami Tootle in a table drain as usual. I have enjoyed all the camps. Some cold wet ones in a fun of the second kind way (fun when its over). Most camps have been silent, sleeping on a groundsheet under the cloudless starry sky. So nice. And so to bed. Sleep well.
