DAY 34 21 JULY KING ASH BAY REST AND RIVER JAUNT

Chris O’B asked around and found some fishermen who would take us down the river for a jolly. Frank and Mike took Chris and I 30km downriver where they checked their mudcrab traps and we threw on our hand libes. No luck all round.

Chris tries his hand at fishing on one of the best fishing spots in Australia. Nothing! Ditto Stuart and boat owners Frank and Mike

On the way back we pulled in at the Vietnamese Australian fishing camp built on poles over the water. Alex the fisherman showed us his commercial haul pf a boatload full of $30-50/kg mudcrabs heading for the live crab market in China.

Back at the boatramp by 13:00 when Frank took Christine and Brian out for a spin on the river.

Back at KAB I sid my best to answer my accountant Sandra’s tax item queries,  top up the digital diary and next to update Stragglingstu.com.

Commercial Mudcrab fishing camp on the Carrington (?) River, a little bit of Vietnam transposed.
