DAY 65 AUGUST 21 THE ORCHID FARM, JAM AND SCONES, THE LAST NIGHT
After breakfast Brian and Christine set off for the 8 kms to the Orchid Farm for a look-see and tea and scones. I did the washing and set off a bit later only to get lost in the back blocks of Coolalinga and arrive at the Orchid Farm just as B & C were finishing their tea and leaving. The usual story, a hobby growing orchids had become a business and now the owner wanted to retire but was having trouble finding a buyer. Lovely garden though.
For the return trip I tried to follow Google Maps which showed a bicycle path along the old railway line. It turned out the section I was trying to find hadn’t been built yet so I had an adventure in the sand and long grass finding a way back to the village. Working hard to push your bike through sand and mud while watching for snakes while only being 400m from a Bunnings store is a bit of an odd feeling.
Back at camp we did a food shop for dinner and started getting ourselves organised for the ride to Darwin tomorrow.
