DAY 30 17 JULY SURPRISE CREEK TO ROBINSON RIVER

DAY 30 17 JULY SURPRISE CREEK TO ROBINSON RIVER

A better road today.  Longer rideable stretches but with some long gentle hills thrown in.

The previous day had done its damage though and I could only manage 50km before asking the others to stop at Robinson River.

Robinson River is a delightful spot with shallow clear water running over the crossing and large lagoons (presumably full of snapping handbags up and down stream.

Robinson River – lovely spot for a skinny-dip in the shallow crossing between the (presimed) crocodile filled pools above and below. If only the traffic would stop

It was so delightful and we had stopped early (about 3pm) that we headed to the crossing, stripped off, and in modest sequnce, rinsed off the dust of there days in the crossing.  Brian and I were enjoying the waters when the first campervan came down the crossing.  Scarper off the track and grab some modesty before getting back in. Only to have a second car appear.  Repeat scramble.

The female drivers were laughing both times!

Then to camp well away from the water.
