Day 86 6 July Mount Garnet and Inot Hot Springs

Last day on the dirt.

Packed up and headed north.

The road kept getting better and after about 40 kms just past Minnamoolka Station it even became bitumen!

Then it was just a grind into Mount Garnet at about 4pm. Mount Garnet was doing it tough; the tin mine had recently ceased operations and the main job in town was decommissioning it.

Got a drink at the shop and was advised that the Inot Hot Springs 14 kms east on the Malanda Road was a good place to stop.

Inot Hot Springs is indeed a nice spot. A well set up camp ground, the flow from the hot springs is catured in a caldarum (hot pool) that can only just be tolerated and then progresses to a tepid and a cool pool. Very nice. Dinner was at the pub over the river and back for another dip in the pools before bed.
