Day 55 5 June KJM desert hotel to Innamincka 35 km

Hard to drag myself away from the KJM desert hotel with its luxury.

The ride was uneventful, straight up between the dunes until the last curving 10 km in to Innamincka.

Innamincka was a couple of houses and businesses catering to the drovers bringing stock down the Strezlecki track to sale in South Australia. Then I understand that the town basically died until a few entrepeneures built a new shop (the Innamincka Trading Post), a new pub and restored the nursing post. Now it is a tidy little outpost catering to tourists and the odd mining crew out for some R&R.
