Day 43 24 May Oodnadatta 0 km

Isn’t “Oodnadatta” a great name? It reeks of the outback.

Note: apparently no one has ever perished on the Oodnadatta Track for lack of water although several from Dalhousie Springs and Hamilton Downs did die trying to get to the track. Although the track is in desert country it follows a major Creek so that water is always available (might have to dig in creek bed).

I am really feeling exhausted here. That track from Kulgera to Oodnadatta,  and especially Finck to Hamilton Downs, really took it out of me. I couldn’t ride on even if I wanted to.

The day is for resting, eating and having a beer at the pub.

The worst thing in Oodnadatta is the difficulty in getting internet – 4G at Pink Roadhouse, WiFi at the school library in lobby or door, or the best signal in the bar at the pub.
