Its that time of year again, slightly cooler during the day in the northern part of Australia so StragglingStu is heading north again.

Who is going?

Stu of course! As the days shorten and the temperatures drop the north and inland of Australia looks better and better.

Bruce who was on the Cairns-Darwin ride in 2017 but left the dirt halfway through to ride the alternate sealed road and beat us to Darwin by a week.

Jane “I rode from Beijing to Istanbul” bragging rights winner.  In 2017 Jane was riding across Canada dodging grizzley bears while Stu and Bruce were  avoiding crocodiles on the Cairns-Darwin ride. Jane was so keen for this trip that she started with a 500 km desert preliminary from Carnarvon to Gascoyne  to us at our start point at the Nanutarra. Sadly her front wheel warped and she returned to Canarvon to get it repaired. While there she got an offer to be a special guest at the Roebourne Picnic Races on the basis that her grandparents were the first pastoral settlers in the western Pilbara. She promptly abandoned us for the better offer!

The Magic Saucepan that cooked our pasta from Cairns to Darwin was picked up from Brian and packed for the trip.
