LEJOG DAY 37-38 The Orkneys and stone circles then train to London

LEJOG finished its time to pack up and go home. But first we have to fill in two nights before catching the train back to London.

(Train had been organised over a half hour phone call with a very helpful ScotRail gentleman. I called ScotRail from Inverness to thank them for their help with the booking and said how helpful the lady on the phone had been; the ScotRail bloke I was talking to said that HE was the booking officer I had spoken with and HE is a HE, not a she. Lovely blokes, I wrote a thankyou letter to ScotRail about their help).

So ferry Thurso (Scrabster) (calm seas) to Orkney, see two sets of standing stones, overnight in the Stromness Hotel (odd as tee-total as run by observant Muslims), and catch the ferry back to Thurso. Overnight in Thurso then train to Inverness, change to train to Edinburgh, change to train to London. Arrive 21:45 at night. Ride Kings Cross Station past the Tower of London to our flat in Tower Hamlets (Hillary rode off on her own to her son in Wandsworth, Adieu Hillary)
